Spring Blossoms...new watercolor

This is the latest from 'My Little Paint Box'
... my framer is getting ready to do her spring window so trying feverishly to get some new spring inspired watercolors done.  Spring Blossoms is just one of two done thus far. This photo was taken of a tree in bloom...I wish I knew what kind of tree it was.  I couldn't find out then and still have no idea!

The photo is fairly accurate except for the left side.  There are subtle leaves within the dark background that the camera just did not capture.  You can see more of my watercolors in "My Little Paint Box" collection on my website.

On a different subject...I have a HEALTH UPDATE:

I'm not going into detail...but I have been 'issue free' for 14 days now. I'm believing that I'm on the mend. This has been a long ordeal (almost a year)...I feel like for the first time in months I can see light at the end of the tunnel.

I just want to say thank you for the encouraging emails and prayers. God does listen and does answer if we just believe.

Bless you for caring,
Marsha

I love this floral watercolor, Marsha. Nice to see your work in color. I also do both black and white (graphite pencils, pen and ink) and color (oil, watercolor) and enjoy being able to go back and forth between them at times.
I think the blossoms might be magnolia but am not really sure. We have a downed tree in my neighborhood and a friend told me I could get the closed buds to open indoors if I brought in a few budding branches and put them in warm water. They are starting to open. She knew the tree was a magnolia. I'll let you know if they look like yours if they make it.

Hi Marsha,
I love the new watercolor that you did and God does answer prayer. You said you did not know what kind of tree blossoms you painted, it looks like apple blossoms to me.
With love,
Ruth Housley

Phyllis,
Yes, I do enjoy the watercolors. I've complained about their unpredictability, but in actuality, I've enjoyed the challenge. It's certainly been a learning process. The drawing just came easy. It always has. So there was never much of a challenge.

Watercolor is a challenge every time I swing those brushes!

Ruth,
Thanks for your thoughtful comments. I think you may be right on the 'apple blossom' choice.

I painted mostly in watercolor for quite a number of years before turning back toward oil. Watercolor and painting in general is quite a challenge but I also find it exceptionally fulfilling for that very reason.
Glad your health is on the upswing. My daughter is going through such an experience right now and it's no fun. Talk about challenges!
