D. Paradiso...WIP and Final Commission Preview

A Merry Christmas Portrait... This portrait of Brennan was commissioned by his grandparents as a surprise Christmas present for their son and daughter-in-law.  I posted several photos of the portrait as I worked on it...keeping grandma and grandpa involved in the process. It has since been turned into a tutorial and moved the my blogspot.

The tutorial includes the WIP photos taken and a full explanation of the drawing process, a list of the supplies I used, and the reference photos.

Studio Notes:  Brennan's Grandpa sent me the nicest message after the holidays...thought I would share it with you.

"I'm the grandpa, What an absolute pleasure it was to present this beautiful portrait to my son and daughter-in-law. Thank you for capturing the essence and joy that is Brennan.  We look forward to working with you again soon.  His new brother Liam was born 12/04/07"

Let me know what you think.

What a wonderful portrait! The eyes are fantastic, and I love how you've rendered the white blond hair against the background.

I really love that you're explaining each step of the way. That really helps new artists to see the process. Thanks so much!

What stunning work. I am starting out in the field of Drawing, and welcome all the guidance I can get. Have you ever thought of making a DVD, of instructional material, for sale. I think this would sell very well. If you ever do, I will be first to buy.

Regards

Jerry
