I look at the common everyday things around me and see
the beauty and detail in their simple forms.
Where the painter sees color,
I, as a "Pencil Artist" see the shadows.

I use Carbon, Charcoal, and Graphite together in my Drawings to achieve the dramatic look that is my signature style.

The Gray Rose
by Matthew Merreighn

The gray rose is most desired,
 not for it's beauty,
but for it's uniqueness.
The gray rose will be immortalized for it's uncommon color.

As time progresses,
people will realize the greatness of the gray rose,
and in doing so the gray rose will become most desired.

But only those who first recognized it's significance
will have a Gray Rose of their own.

The Sports Collection contains some of my most popular Drawings.  Most of the Sports Drawings have been done as the result of a consumer request.

If your "Sport" is missing...contact me, and I will see what I can do

Animals...big and small

We all have a special connection
with our pets.
They bless our lives with their "unconditional love"
and when they pass there is an empty spot that lasts forever.

Some of the Drawings in this collection
are "Commissioned Works."
Others are from photographs that I have taken...that in some way touched me personally.

I believe that a successful portrait
is not just how closely it resembles the reference photo
...but more importantly, how completely
it portrays the person.

My goal is to capture my subject's essence and emotions on paper, presenting my feelings of this person to the world in my own unique style.
