Andrew Dean, age 2, has a contented smile as he lounges with his mom. According to Grandma, Andrew is always engaging, a master charmer, and the only grandson. He has a flair for batting his eyes and flashing a smile that melts her heart. Grandma says he is fearless, headstrong, and smart; and that someday he will be a strong leader...yet he will always be "Grandma's Prince Andrew."
The challenge for Andrew's portrait was his blond hair. Andrew's hair is so blond that it is almost white. In fact, his scalp is darker than his hair. I had to apply carbon pencil with a piece of chamois and draw into it with an eraser...then make darker shadow marks with a blender. This process was repeated several times before I achieved the look I wanted.
